Gerida Furstenburg – Recipient Coordinator

A r ultimate picnic basket.

Describe in 10 words or less what you do at Nurture.

I help future parents fins their ideal egg donor.

What does a typical day at Nurture look like for you?

My day starts super early (I am definitely a morning person!). I respond to all the questions and queries that have come through via email, whatsapps and calls.  Once I have done that, I visit the various fertility clinics we work with, meeting with future parents, answering their questions and help them choose their perfect-for-them egg donor.

What has been the highlight of your Nurture career?

There are so many highlights!  Each time a recipient finds their ideal donor is a highlight. When we get news of a positive pregnancy result! When the new parents send photos of their tiny new baby. Or even better, when I get to meet these miracle babies in person.

What was your day job before Nurture?

I was and still am a registered fertility nurse , I worked at a fertility clinic before I joined Nurture.

 What is family to you?

Family is EVERYTHING to me!

What does a typical day in your household look like?

Crazy! I have twins who have a hectic school schedule and it’s all sooooo crazy busy every day

If you could know the absolute truth about something, what would it be?

“What do I have to do to get a drink around here “

What would you like every donor to know?

How soooo very grateful the recipients are for everything that the donors do for them:  going through the egg donation process, the medication, the appointments, the egg retrieval…..recipients are soooo very grateful

What do you do when you’re  not working at Nurture?

Cheer my son on from next to the rugby field and cheer my daughter on next to the netball court.  And when the twins are on school holiday, there is nothing we like to do more than a weekend away on the farm.

Describe your ideal picnic basket

Cheese and French baguette and red wine
