Dear Potential Recipient. Most of you will have arrived here after a long, hard journey and we want to give you a big old hug. Infertility sucks, we wouldn’t wish it on our worst enemy.
Here at Nurture we wont tell you to ‘just relax’ nor will we tell you to just ‘go on holiday and you will get pregnant’. Although, if you’ve come to South Africa on holiday, Welcome! – we hope you really do get pregnant on your holiday!
We know this is a big, big thing for you, and we are sure you have lots of questions. For answers to all those questions, and more – check out our Recipient FAQs!
Now that we have that out of the way, lets get down to the reason why you clicked here in the first place: Choosing your donor!
Viewing our database of available donors
The first step is for you to view our available donors online. Please click here: Donor Profiles. The system will prompt you for a password that can be obtained by emailing kim@nurture.co.za
The password will be updated on an occasional basis so don’t panic if yours is no longer working. Just email Kim and she will send you a new one.
Please note that all our donations are totally anonymous and no identifying information of either recipient or donor will be made public. South African legislation prohibits any donor agency operating within South Africa from showing adult photos of the donors.
Securing your donor
Once you’ve been through all the profiles and you’ve found your ideal donor, please let us know of your choice in writing. Email is fine! Only once we have received your email, can we start the process of securing your donor.
Please note that we are only able to ‘hold’ our donors for a period of three months, which means that the donor’s treatment cycle must have started within three months of being chosen.
The next steps
The next step in the process is for the donor to undergo a medical and psychological assessment in order to determine her readiness to go ahead with the cycle. Once she has been given the all clear, the clinic will contact you to arrange your treatment plan. which includes appointments, medication and the syncing of both of your cycles.

Although we HATE to think about the possibility that the IVF wont work, the reality is that it doesn’t always work the first time. If you would like to try again with your donor, we offer reduced rates for all our Frequent Tryers.

Fertility treatment is very, very expensive. Very few people have the money needed lying around in their piggy bank or back pocket. Most of us have to beg, borrow and hopefully not steal. And of course, Medical Aid pays for sweet blow all to do with fertility treatment, because it is considered ‘elective’ treatment. YEAH RIGHT!!
