Out Of Town Donors
We work with clinics based in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban and Port Elizabeth, and will be working with a clinic in Windhoek (Namibia) in the near future too. What this means is – should you be selected to donate, you would need to travel to either Cape Town, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban, Port Elizabeth to donate. Note that only donors residing in Namibia would be able to donate in Windhoek.
All the necessary travel; transport and accommodation arrangements will be organised and paid for by Nurture. You will also receive a daily allowance for the days that you are away from home.
We work with Top Class clinic’s in these cities. Together with the fabulous Dr’s and co-ordinators who we have worked with for many years (and who we absolutely adore) you will be well looked after in typical Nurture fashion!
If/when selected, you would be flown to Cape Town, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban or Port Elizabeth for a day to do the medical and psychological screening. (Generally you fly in on the morning of your appointments and back home the same day.)
If all is ok with those results – the actual donation will be planned for two/three months after your initial screening. Please be aware that during the actual donation you would be away from home/work for a minimum of 10 days. A doctor’s letter can be provided for the initial day visit and for the duration of your donation stay in the host city.
